About Colorado Wild

Wildflower hikes are a thing in Colorado. Picking wildflowers is not. But surprise bursts of color can now come home in an oversized hand-picked bouquet, or on one of the wild pollinators that make it all happen. And, just like in the wild, no two pieces are exactly alike, with each displaying its own unique alcohol ink textures and colors.

About the art

Boxes are boring, so I laser cut and stain Baltic birch to make custom-shaped line art “frames.” Layering sheets of material creates large, flat wall hangings with unique 3D texture.

Each piece is a signed, original work. Use of a large-format laser cutter allows uniformity, but the unpredictability of alcohol inks is part of their challenge and appeal as an art medium, creating one-of-a-kind results. Each has a matte finish and includes integral keyhole hangers.

I use the only the most lightfast inks and colors commercially available, but please note that alcohol inks are not archival, so my artwork cannot be located outside or in direct sunlight. Even though each piece has been finished with nine layers of UV-protection, my work has been intentionally designed to brighten up empty, dark corners and add happy pops of color to unexpected spaces, so please avoid hanging in sunlight.
